Incoloy Alloy 825 Plate
INCOLOY® Alloy 825 Plate (UNS N08825/W.Nr. 2.4858) is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum, copper, and titanium.Â
1.INCOLOY® Alloy 825 Plate (UNS N08825/W.Nr. 2.4858) is a composite alloy consisting of nickel, iron, chromium, and various
add-ons including molybdenum, copper, and titanium. The alloy’s chemical composition is designed to provide exceptional resistance to many corrosive environments.Â
2. The chemical composition of this alloy is specifically created to offer outstanding resistance against a variety of corrosive
surroundings. The nickel content is sufficient for resistance to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking.Â
3. The presence of nickel in this alloy is adequate to resist stress-corrosion cracking caused by chloride ions. The nickel, in conjunction with the molybdenum and copper, also gives outstanding resistance to reducing environments
such as those containing sulfuric and phosphoric acids.Â
4. Additionally, the combination of nickel, molybdenum, and copper provides excellent protection against reducing
environments, including those containing sulfuric and phosphoric acids. The molybdenum also aids resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.Â
5. Additionally, molybdenum plays a crucial role in enhancing the ability of materials to withstand pitting and crevice corrosion. The alloy’s chromium content confers resistance to a variety of oxidizing substances such as nitric acid, nitrates, and oxidizing salt.Â
6. The presence of chromium in the alloy provides protection against oxidizing elements like nitric acid, nitrates, and oxidizing salt by enhancing the material's resistance to them. The titanium addition serves, with an appropriate heat treatment, to stabilize the alloy against sensitization to intergranular corrosion.Â
7. With the aid of proper heat treatment, the inclusion of titanium helps to prevent the alloy from becoming sensitized to intergranular corrosion, thereby stabilizing it. UNS N08825 is designed to provide exceptional resistance to many corrosive environments.Â
8. UNS N08825 is specifically engineered to offer extraordinary resistance against a wide range of corrosive settings.
It is like alloy 800 but has improved resistance to aqueous corrosion.Â
9. UNS N08825 is similar to alloy 800 but features enhanced resistance to corrosion in aqueous environments. It also maintains excellent resistance to both reducing and oxidizing acids, to stress-corrosion cracking, and to localized attacks such as pitting and crevice corrosion.Â
10. UNS N08825 exhibits outstanding resistance to reducing and oxidizing acids, stress-corrosion cracking, and localized forms of corrosion, including pitting and crevice corrosion. Good mechanical properties at both room and elevated temperatures up to approximately 1000°F
11. The material displays favorable mechanical properties that maintain consistency across both normal and elevated
temperatures, reaching up to approximately 1000°F
Permission for pressure-vessel use at wall temperatures up to 800°F
Excellent resistance to reducing and oxidizing acids
12. Outstanding capacity to withstand the effects of both reducing and oxidizing acids
Good resistance to stress-corrosion cracking
13. Impressive durability against stress-corrosion cracking Satisfactory resistance to localized attacks like pitting and crevice corrosion
14. Acceptable ability to withstand localized forms of corrosion, such as pitting and crevice corrosion
Very resistant to sulfuric and phosphoric acids
15. Highly resilient against the harmful effects of sulfuric and phosphoric acids
